Hudson pulls a quick one; Rest of the Day

You may want to halt the Orlando Hudson to the Nats notion. It appears Hudson is headed to Minnesota. Bill Ladson of MLB.com broke the news. The Twins were in the market for a 2B because Nick Punto (.228, 1HR, 38RBIs) is not that everyday man. Hudson hit .283 with 9HRs and 63 RBIs last season for the Dodgers. Hudson is an upgrade for the Twins that should get them into the play-offs again and maybe deeper. I'm wondering if the Twins dump Punto now? He's basically useless.

Now with Hudson off the market, the Nationals jumped to sign Adam Kennedy. Kennedy overachieved last season upping himself in most categories. Is he on his upside at age thirty four? Kennedy in my eyes should beat out Alberto Gonzalez at second base.

The Phillies have signed RP Oscar Villarel to a minor league deal. Villarel was shut-down by the Royals needing Tommy John surgery. He's painful in ERA, Walks, and earned runs, but on the bright side his career ERA is 3.86 (because the past two seasons his ERA jumped up). Not a good signing if he makes the team.

Rumors and Notes:

Mets and C Rod Barajas? Plain stupid when you have 3 catchers already?

Dana Eveland back to the D-Backs?

Johnny Damon and and agent Scott Boras are looking for two years instead of the Tigers offered one at seen plus million according to Lynn Henning of The Detroit News.

SP Erik Bedard is close to a one year deal to return to Seattle according to J.P. Morosi. Jarrod Washburn is considering playing for them also.

The Cubs avoided arbitration with closer Carlos Marmol.
